We offer nutritional counseling to ensure your pet's diet is complete, nutritional intervention as part of treatment of some illnesses, and can even place temporary feeding tubes so pets who are sick or injured receive adequate energy while they are healing. We educate our patients’ families on the risks of feeding the toxic ingredients like grapes and chocolate and the less well-known risks of over or underfeeding macronutrients like fat and micronutrients like iodine.
We only get one chance to grow our puppies or kittens into healthy adults, so it is very important they receive their nutrition from a diet that is feeding trial tested to meet the needs of growth. Pregnant and nursing animals need special attention to their nutritional needs to keep them and their offspring healthy. Senior pets may be less active and require less energy in their diets, or have kidney disease requiring a prescription diet, but not all senior pets require a diet change.

Obesity is increasingly common in our pets, putting them at risk of diabetes, arthritis, kidney disease, and cancers. We offer prescription weight loss programs to help pets lose weight safely and quickly with nutrition rechecks, food scales and innovative prescription diets. By measuring body condition and tracking progress over time, we give you a healthy goal which is more than just a number.
